Hong Kong: Photos up!

I think Sindy hates me 'cause I've promised her that I'll blog about HK several times and didn't. So babe, this entry goes to youuu.. Heh. :)

Sorry lar. Alot of photos to do up. And no, I photoshopped them not to make myself slimmer or complexion better but to add the funny borders and fonts for my own viewing pleasure ('cause Sindy will really be happy if I just picasa them and post them up fast). Urps.

So here goes..

HONG KONG DAY 1
30th July 2006

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

We spent the 1st day at Mongkok
(this is also the area where our hotel's located)!

Dinner at a random teahouse at Mongkok. :)

Other days will be up in a while!

Flamers, keep out.

Before I get started on the Hong Kong pics, let’s talk a lil about flamers. People who have nothing better to do but get on people’s blogs, leaving the most audacious remarks under the cloak of anonymity.

Take a chill pill and while you are at it, get a life!

Look, we can’t please everyone and it is neither our intention to please everyone. Allow me to raise the cliché – it’s our blogs and we as the sole owners of the blogs should be allowed to say and do whatever we want (legal stuffs, of course).

I mean if you don’t like whatever you read or see, then don’t read/look at it. I don’t know about some people, but I would get my ass out if a particular site doesn’t go down well on me. Or maybe it is simply inherent in some human beans to jump at people the moment one deviates from the “norm”.

Question is, do we all need to be so politically correct?

I never had my share of flamers, until we started Little Red Heels.

The latest went,
“another graduates setting up diy sites. u guys have a cert right?
this market is saturated enuf already.
the others are just trying to earn some allowances.
what abt u guys?”

Erm, ok. We are UNDERgrads alright. We have certs!! Oohh.. PSLE, 'O' levels and 'A' levels!! (See what I mean by people who enjoy jumping on people so much that they read what they want to read and not what is written.)

Disclaimer: We decided to be nice to this person 'cause she possibly misread it and might be some avid supporter of undergrads' works. Benefit of a doubt ya.

Then the latest saga on a fellow online accessories store. People slamming the poor girl for selling this particular necklace at 99 buckaroos when hello, the necklace was on a bidding system. You know, bidding? So what’s so wrong with that? (I’m still trying to figure.)

When demand meets supply, everyone is a happy person. Apparently, not good enough for some people.

Pegs’ blog got hit by some flamer recently too (which I presume with so many considerate people around, the trash should all be duly picked up and toss out of the beautiful garden already).

Then we have those classic epitomes of “being constantly flame-d” – Xiaxue, Daphne (pinkshoefetish), Dawn Yang, Tammy, etc. I ain’t saying some of them don’t ask for it but if they don’t meet your frequency, then maybe you should seek your wavelength elsewhere.

I guess this post won’t knock any sense into these people. Never ever will. But hell, I do feel better.

Btw, they didn’t tell you being angry makes you age faster? Urps.. such a shame.

Forever and ever, indeed. Aww...

I was wondering how come Sindy’s MSN nick sounded so much like she had a freaking one night stand.

It reads: Will you still love me in the morning?

Then I watched Click today and suddenly, everything becomes clear.

Sindy!!! This is to you: Forever and ever, babe. ;)

And to my precious ones – I suppose you know who you are – forever and ever, people. :)

Click is one helluva nice movie. Go watch it, pleaseeee. I like it so much I don’t mind watching it a second time. Trust me, the last time I said I am willing to watch a movie a second time was Moulin Rouge or something – yes, that’s eons ago.

So if you can’t find a date for Click, I’m here for you!!! (Invitation open to my girl friends only. Cause errr, I am not very good at handling guys. Worse, handling guys crying.)

Go watch ahhh!!!

PS: Taking a fair bit of time getting HongKong pics up I know. Patience okay? Heh. Give this girl a breakkk. :)

For my record...

I miss the honeymoon periods in relationships.

When was the last time someone feel happy just because I was smiling, even though he wasn’t the cause of my happiness?

All things small and simple would somehow morph into something overly realistic and insignificant, just because we tend to forget the reason why we fall in love in the first place.

It must be this ungodly time of the night that explains the random dose of love thoughts.

I reiterate, go listen to Love Me by Collin Raye because that to me is what true true love is all about.

Female ego aside, that is also the kind of love I hope to find this lifetime.

Good night world. ;)

The paranoia of a girlfriend

Like I say to Meng, it is all orientation crap.

***

To realise that there is a girl sleeping beside your boyfriend, albeit in their individual sleeping bags.

To realise that, like any other orientation camps, there are contact activities like passing oranges with their necks. And of course girls have to be slotted in between guys.

To realise that the girls are repeatedly asking your boyfriend for your picture and your boyfriend doesn’t have any.

***

Urg.. darn. I am not that chill a girlfriend I thought I can be, or at least I wanted to be so.

Orientation crap. Hmph.

Hong Kong: in retrospection

Hello, I am back in Singapore.

Nah, not today but two days ago. Just that I haven’t gotten a chance to sit down to blog ‘cause life has been back to the same ol’ top gear pace since my return.

Like aggravating bidding (Needing O N E more module, grrrr).
Like the StarHub roadshow at Suntec (Back to hub but hubbing is incomplete without my lovely Dorkie and Yiyi *boo*).

Oh wells, reality is always harsh. At least I had my brief escapade before all these madness.

Hong Kong was fun! And saying that it was fun is a gross understatement!

I'll have to admit that it could be better if we had more time (one week at least) and a more organized itinerary. But I wouldn’t ask for more really, given that we kind of arrange the trip on a whim. ;)

So we shop, and shop, and shop, and eat a lot more.

Their tourism board ain’t exaggerating when they claim Hong Kong is all about shopping and eating. I came back all broke but the experience was priceless.

It feels good to be in a foreign place once in a while. (Despite having cry my guts out at the airport ‘cause Pebble was whining when I ran in - without her - for check in; and I was sincerely missing her deep until the real shopping sets in *urps*).

As much as HK is as easy to get around as Singapore, the spirit of adventure was overwhelming. In my case, I was content with letting Collin do the navigation while I take it all in. Amazing place.

Or perhaps it wasn’t the place but the people who were with me and the whole notion of being in a foreign country where everything is so new and bizarre at the same time.

Or maybe this is just my way of escaping the responsibilities adult life brought me.

I can’t help but chuckle when I reflect on how I started to demand for "freedom" at a tender age of 12. What’s so bad about being that little baby?

On second thought, IT IS BAD. I guess I rather own the freedom than escape the responsibilities.

Bring on the freedom, and where to next? :)

P.S. As usual my handy Casio never fails me by capturing all the little moments which I shall indulge in whenever I need a piece of those happy and carefree times. Photos galore up next!! :)
